The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner: An Eclipse novella by Stephanie Meyer

Posted by Ty on August 21, 2010 at 10:25 AM Comments comments (1)

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner is a satisfying read for those who are lovingly familiar with the Twilight series. I borrowed this book from my grandmother and finished it in less than a day. You will find that it is hard to put down after you have opened it. While reading, I loved the fact you are opened up to a whole new perspective of vampires. If you don't already know, Bree Tanner is the newborn girl that is seen in the final chapters of Eclipse during the fight. The Cullens take mercy on her and refrain from killing her. Later, when members of the Volturi arrive, Jane (a truly evil and ruthless vampire) finishes the job and ends her life. All in all, the story was quite good (if a little on the short side) and is a definite must read for the devout fans of Twilight. Bravo Stephanie Meyer! You have showed us your amazing talent once again!

Wicked Series by Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie books 1-4

Posted by Ty on August 5, 2010 at 10:01 AM Comments comments (0)

Wicked is a marvelous series by Nancy Holder and Debbie Viguie. I was introduced to these books by my sister which was very gracious of her. I thank her tremendously. I am currently still reading the fifth and final book but I just couldn't wait to review the first four! ^_^

Wicked is a romance and supernatural fiction (I tend to be reading a lot of these lately) that I find interesting. I really do not want to give much away so you should definitely read the series to learn more. I will say that I think very highly of the books and that the authors are very creative. They should be praised. Although I would not recommend this book series to anybody who has trouble reading about witchcraft for religious reasons and such. If you despise the Harry Potter series because of this than you shouldn't be reading Wicked. Sorry about that but some people are like this. I for one have my own opinions about all of that but I really don't feel like getting into a religious debate so enough for now. All in all, it's a very great read and I recommend it to anybody with an open mind.

Night World #3

Posted by Ty on July 15, 2010 at 10:04 AM Comments comments (0)

I just finished Night World a few days ago!! It was Awesome!! Definitely one of my favorites. I heard that the last installment of the series, Strange Fate, will be out next year and I can't wait! Really, I'm fascinated by the story plot and the creativity involved with coming up with the characters. When I had just finished the book, my first reaction was 'Shiver me timbers! I've finished!' For a while I was disappointed because I didn't have the next book in my hands to read. But I've learned to patient. I still can't wait!!!! ;-)

Night World #2

I finished the second volume of the Night World series the other day. I loved it even more than the first! The story itself is rich with passion and the urge to fight for what's right in a corrupt system. Things are beginning to get exciting and I can't wait to finish #3. Everybody reading this blog take my advice and check out this series if you haven't already!!

Night World Vol. #1

It always amazes me to read a book about vampires and compare it to a different book about them written by a different author. The vampires in each story could be dramatically dissimilar. The first book in the Night World series Is divided up into three different stories, all being cleverly written by L.J. Smith. I personally love the authors unique way of describing a vampire. It is different from any other I have ever read about. I have greatly enjoyed this book and I will also recommend it to anyone as a good read.

Hello everybody. Wow, a lot has happened lately and I would like to just fill everybody in on the going-ons. I have recently created a new website called Our Fire. I hope to gain many members on the site and increase it's popularity. On the site you can post your own artwork or photography. It's still pretty new so there is a lot to do and correct. My first and only member on the Our Fire so far is GreenView and I have cordially elected him as an admin. That brings me to believe that I might also need and admin or two for Dark Matter. If anybody would like to be one, please message me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. If nobody responds to this blog I will go ahead and message the person I have in mind. Thanks!

Beautiful Creatures

Ok, I literally just finished this book thirty seconds ago. My first reaction to the ending: I seriously desire for this story to be real. My second: there must be a sequel. I am in love with this book and I will never forget it. Beautiful Creatures is written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl, two talented authors. Together, they have created a powerful, moving, and highly atmospheric plot. The setting is a very large piece of this puzzle, a South Carolina town whose residents are highly over-religious and closed to new ideas. In this town, a teenage boy is forced to reside with people he completely disagrees with, coupled with dealing with the loss of his mother due to a car crash. When a new girl moves into the most feared an infamous plantation house in town, he falls in love with her. The two teens must find a way to stay together while also battling the towns unwelcome attitude toward their new relationship. But that isn't the main problem they struggle with. The strange new girl has to fight to conceal her power and overcome a curse that haunts her family.

This is one of my favorite romances of all time. I hope the authors will do just as excellently on the sequel as on the original, or even better.

The Wolves of Mercy Falls: Shiver

Posted by Ty on May 15, 2010 at 7:33 AM Comments comments (1)

Teen romances have always been favorites of mine, especially when they are supernatural. Shiver, the first installment of The Wolves of Mercy Falls series definitely falls into this category. The love shared between a werewolf and a mortal girl is in my opinion, a love that is both sad and lonely, but powerful, especially when the werewolf can only change human during the summer months. This fabulous story was cleverly written by a woman of great literary power, Maggie Stiefvater. I am amazed by the ingenious way she captured the emotions of the story in her writing. This is a great read for anybody out there who has a passion for supernatural romance. I am extraordinarily happy that I had the chance to sink my teeth into this work of art.

The meaning behind this story is one that has left an imprint on my heart. Bridge to Terabithia summoned up many emotions inside of me that I'm not quite used to... I found it very moving and powerful.
